NEWS ------------------------------------------------------ 2017/09/15 Up date. We decided to finish the Otaru Viola Master Class which started in 2004 with Nobuko Imai at the 15th January 2019. Currently, students gather from all over the world for the Master Class, and we are steadily administering a lot of support, but the scale has become considerably bigger than when we started. The organization that accepts them should expand accordingly, but increasing the lesson room and the staff is a very difficult problem. Nobuko also agreed with my idea that it is difficult to create a new organization without destroying the current home atmosphere. And we thought that it was important to finish this master class properly, we decided to make the 15th final. In the future (for 2019), we will not recruit students. Please acknowledge it. We will enrich the master classes of 2018 and 2019 more than ever. Please expect more powerful and fun concerts! The audition for the Otaru Viola Master Class 2018 The recruitment number of students: 13 people. Please play the following works both. a. Choose one of the suites (all movements) for Solo Violoncello by J.S.Bach. b. Viola sonata with piano (one movement) about 10 min. The image must show the full body of the performer, and must be taken at a distance close enough to identify his / her face, arms and hands. Record a performance from April, 2016 to May, 2017. And please write the music title, the date and the location which played that clearly. Please upload your performance to YOUTUBE by May 10, 2017 and tell us about the URL. 4) We'll inform you of an examination result by mail at the middle of June. The 14th Otaru Viola Master Class Dates and Venue of the activity: January 4, 2018 ~ January 14, 2018 in Otaru in Hokkaido. The students attend the persomal lessons by Nobuko Imai 3 times for 45 minutes. The students attend the persomal lessons by assistant lecturer (Veit Hertenstein or Ryo Oshima) 1 time for 45 minutes. The aII of students join "Bach Music Class" by Koji Otsuki is highly regarded as a specialist in Baroque music, and attends the Bach lectures 2 times for 90 minutes by him. The student performs the music of the viola sonata or solo in "Viola bouquet concert". Also, the student participates in the 2 Concerts to which Nobuko Imai performs with the ensemble. These 3 concerts are held in the music hall in Otaru City on January 8, 13 and 14, 2018. And we have more mini concerts. We break up in Otaru at January 15. The price of the charge of attendance is 100,000 yen. You pay hotel expenses and transportation expenses. The student stays at the pension that becomes a lesson hall. The pension charge is about 6000 yen per person per day for the twin room with breakfast and dinner. It becomes about 8000 yen for the single room.
